What I Read in January

Pretty good amount. Tried to read mostly for fun this month while waiting for the ALA Youth Media Awards to be announced February 12th. So this is kind of all over the place.

My favorites this month were:

Malu is upset when her mom moves her from Gainesville, FL to Chicago, IL for two years. But when she finds a cool coffee house and forms her own punk band, things begin to look a lot better.

When Genie tries to help a new boy being beaten up, she unintentionally draws the notice of the Monkey King. Now she's fighting demons instead of cramming for tests.

Nahri summons a djinn (daeva) and discovers that she herself is not just a simple human being. Now she is pursued by ifrit and must seek the safety of the home of the Daeva. But will she really be safe?

The rest of what I read is below.
